Bead rant
I love beads. Even when I have absolutely no money, I look at beads. Sometimes, I buy them anyway, like for a specific project or a friend's wedding.
But..
I am NEVER buying beads off of an Ebay importer again. Why? Because If I want to use the blasted things, I'll have to re-drill them, which I cannot do. A 21 gauge wire won't go through any of the unakite. In addition, I would have to sort them for shape and size, which I was given the impression in the auction had already been done. (There are at least three vaguely tear droppy shapes in the bag of tear drops, and the sizes are off, as well. And as for the rectangle tubes, they're all random length. The Dremmel will fix that.. Yes, it will, My Precious..)
Even the imitation Sugilite has severe issues. They were apparently stamped (squezed?) out with the the same size disk cutter, but the slices are all different widths. Plus some of the faces are uneven or show bad drilling attempts. How the Hel do you screw up a fake stone? And as for the Labradorite they sent out, how do you not notice that none of the round beads are actually round?!
This company has thousands of finished auctions. Why anyone would give them a favorable feedback I have no idea, but their beads usually had bids.
I understand that Ebay was built on bargainhunters occasionally getting stuck with crap, but a power seller sending out four seperate auctions that contain almost entirely malformed or mismatched beads? Utterly disgusting.
I have a headache..
